these are some of your fans so far
Jenn says:
LOL
awesome
Reeks says:
#1 is who made your fanclub
Jenn says:
I have a fan club? no way!
Reeks says:
So the first question is; What do you think of your fanclub name. Right now what they have is "The Car Kee's ".
The Car Keys/Kee's
The Kee's/Keys
The Keewi's
Jenn says:
Well, to be honest I don't like my last name at all so anything having to do with that makes me cringe a bit but it's pretty creative
Reeks says:
How dies it make you feel that people put your pictures in their blends
When they post around on the fansites.
Jenn says:
I think it's awesome! I love the idea that I have fans but I'm having a hard time understanding why
and it's getting a little depressing knowing that my 15 minutes of fame are going to be over in the middle of tuesdays episode
Reeks says:
lol ok!
Reeks says:
Red head from Ottawa?, Red head rocker!?!, JEN KEE FROM OTTAWA AUDITIONS. OMG she is Top 22 READ!!!. Threads like this were posted everywhere MOMENTS after you sung; did you feel like your audition when watching it made you appear different, or was that just how you naturally are. Which alot of people on the forums would say is a little bit amazing.
Jenn says:
No, I'm seriously that adorable. The editors made me look REALLY cute and silly and they cut out a few moments I'm glad didn't make it to air but yes, that's the way I talk, I was very comfortable in front of the judges and the producers and I honestly just had a really great time in my first audition
Even ex boyfriends I don't particularly get along with messaged me to tell me how adorable I was, so I guess that says it all
Reeks says:
Going into the show, I asked you this before; but what were your expectations, did you go in thinking. " I want to go as far as I can" or was it just, lets try this crap out.
Jenn says:
It was both. I wanted to go as far as I could but that never meant winning the competition or even making it the top 22. I was there to learn and to experience something new. I had been putting off CI for the last 3 years becuase I didn't think I was ready and I really wasn't. Even now I'd say that I wasn't fully prepared for the challenge of this competition
Reeks says:
Say you don't make the top twenty-two in Tuesday's episode, are you going to be jetting back next year; people love you, you got the it factor -- so if it doesn't work out this year, is next year something in your schedule.
Jenn says:
As I was watching a rerun of Monday's episode last night I made the decision to go back next year if I have the time to commit. Who knows what next year is gonna look like but I feel like I'd be able to do alot better the second time around now that I know what to expect. I mean, I would bring my own food, accustomize myself to very little sleep before going and retrain myself to be able to learn
and memorize songs in a matter of hours
that's the only way I would be able to get through that week
Reeks says:
She could possibly the first rocker chick that I like. She's the real deal. I could see her in the Top 10. quote; people saying things like that, helps boost the confidence too eh.
Jenn says:
Totally
Reeks says:
What songs did you sing to the producers, and did you just want to sing shows that show your voice off?
or was it more so, sing songs you enjoy.
Jenn says:
In my very first audition I sang a Rush song called Anthem and a tune by Squeeze called Tempted by the Fruit of Another. In my second audition I did Superstition, Kiss From a Rose, Tempted and Anthem again and also an opera aria. (I'll explain later)
I choose these songs because they showed my range and versitality. I'm not just a rock singer although that's what I do more now. But if I had gone last year I would have been the girl studying to be an opera singer who grew up in musical theatre.
Anyway, besides all that I chose songs that I really love to sing
Reeks says:
There good song choices; too -- so in Toronto, who was the stand out person to you; who did you see as "amazing"; and if you couldn't make the twenty-two, who would you want to make it in your place.
Jenn says:
That's a tough question. I was blown away by Christina Sing. She was practicing in the green room while I was having breakfast and I litterally had to stop what I was doing to see what this was all about. I was also a big fan of Bernard, KOZ, Heidi (for her spunkyness) and of course my wonderful duet partner Tim Smith
There were more, I loved all the french girls. Annabelle and Valerie
especially
Reeks says:
Were you happy to see Koz, Annabelle and Valerie move on when you were booted; or did you want to secrelty murddeeer them. You can tell me.
Jenn says:
no, I have nothing but overwhelming respect for anybody who could make it through that week and come out triumphant. Alot of people where really bitter when they got cut and were like "I'm soooooo not watching this stupid show when it goes to air" but I was like, are you kidding?
The more I can learn from singers who are better then me, the better
Reeks says:
In duets what song choices did they give you. I know you sang Up where we belong, but what were some of the other songs; and was it a hard choice to pick which one? Tell us what goes through your mind when your choosing a song in Toronto.
Jenn says:
The songs they gave us were not exactly well known and other than "Why do birds suddanly appear" which is not the real title, I can't remember what songs they gave us. Basically I try to figure out what song I will be able to put together the fastest because we have like 10 seconds to learn it and perform it. Tim liked to find a song that spoke to him. One that he was able to connect to
and I loved that. We spent alot of time finding the meaning in the song and being a love song we would listen to it while staring into each others eyes trying to make that connection between us real
it worked
Reeks says:
So all in all idol experience reflection; one of the most challenging things in your life?
Jenn says:
are you asking if Idol was one of the most challenging things in my life?
Reeks says:
Musically yeah.
Jenn says:
musically, no. Emotionally and physically, yes. I've had tougher musical challenges having completed my bachelor of music in vocal performance but this was a completly different ballgame. No sleep, very little food, cameras in your face all the time, no time to yourself and having to keep it together and perform was a daunting task
that's why I have so much respect for the people that completed the week and went on to the top 22. They're stronger than I'll ever be
Reeks says:
Nicely said; so say you were in the top 22, top 18, top 14. What would've been your song choices. Followed by your top 10 choice, which would be "Canadian Hits"
Jenn says:
do I have a category to choose from for the top 22?
Reeks says:
nope
any song
Jenn says:
I always wanted to sing Dream On by Aerosmith on the show. I thought about doing Magic Man by Heart which would take care of Canadian Hits. There are a million songs out there I wanted to perform on that stage. Maybe something by the Guess Who....Katherine McPhee did alot of the songs I wanted to do in AI like Someone to watch over me and Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
Reeks says:
Really glad it was a positive experience for you. Now the final question is......
How freaking cool is Nevada.
Jenn says:
She's awesome. I didn't know what to think of her at first but we got along super well. We liked alot of the same music and it became a bit of a ritual to get ready to Aerosmith
Specifially, Falling in Love is So Hard on the Knees
Ricky says:
When you auditioned for Canadian Idol; what were your expectations, did you think you'd make it through -- and did you really want to do it, or was is just...hey, canadian idol is in montreal why the hell not lol.
Alissa says:
Honestly my boyfriend forced me to because he really wanted to but he's too old
Ricky says:
When did you start singing? Was it an early age or a passion found later on during your teens.
Alissa says:
I have been a working visual artist since the age of eleven, so I watched a lot of Disney cartoons and musicals (because I do set design). I always sang along to those things but I really only started with bands once I found my true loves, punk and metal.
Ricky says:
When in Toronto when you first got to the theatre, what was the feeling. Did you feel out of place or were you ready to rock it, even though you knew it wasn't your thing at the time.
Alissa says:
Well I had extensive converstaions with the CTV legal team and producers and my band the night before, so I knew the outcome beforehand either way. I really did want to leave before even auditioning, but I figured "what the hell, might as well sing now that I'm here"
Ricky says:
Do you think you made them want your metalass after you sang; do you think you teased them a bit of what they could have in the top 22, you're allowed to be concieted in this question. You've got my permission.
Alissa says:
HAHAHA my metalass?
hahaha
Ricky says:
bitch be quiet and answer the question, !
I retort the bitch comment, I bet you have a bigger tank then mine, so i'd lose this fight.
Alissa says:
I have a montreal army of metal heads behind me whatever i do... so watch it!!!
I just got along really well with the producers from day 1. They knew and I knew the pros and cons of having a metal musician on the show, and they knew I wasn't about to quit my band for anything, so we did what we could to have a symbiotic relationship. I think we both understood how far it was going to go before I even auditioned.
Ricky says:
Talk to us about Kim Arsenault. LOL
Alissa says:
Well in the Montreal auditions I was the last contestant to audition, so I saw her get her ticket that day. She is really sweet, has a great voice, but unfortunately I seemed to be the only fluently bilingual contestant so I had to double as her translator half the time! She really shouldn't be judged on her appearance (although we all know that's an important part of the competition) because she really had an impressive voice from what I heard.
Ricky says:
When you were cut; you told me awhile ago you had a smile on your face, was it really bitter sweet to be cut, or did you after being cut think -- what if I did stay, did the what if factor ever play in your head. Or was it always Tempest and D.N.A, idol is NOT an option.
Alissa says:
No, like I said, my position was predetermined, but I can't really get into detail about that.
It was just sweet to leave because I was going back to The Tempest and D.N.A either way.
Ricky says:
Now lets get past idol; what are the plans for the tempest?
Alissa says:
The Tempest has huge plans ahead; we are currently in negotiations with our record contract, we have finished our much anticipated album, "Once Only Imagined", to be released soon, and, given that the company we are dealing with is the biggest, most respected metal label out there, intenational touring is expected in the near future along with videos, tv/radio airtime and much more.
Ricky says:
Thats awesome; Do you expect to be touring Canada its anytime soon.
Alissa says:
Definitely. Canada and the U.S. are out primary targets right now, and depending on how long it takes for the legalities to work out, we should be touring with some bigger bands within the next year, year and a half.
Ricky says:
To your Canadian Idol fans; the ones who totally get you and your sound, do you have anything to say to them?
Alissa says:
Well thanks for having good taste in music! HAHA kiddin!!!! Yeah, keep your eyes open for really awesome underground bands. The music industry nowadays is so pop oriented it might be hard for kids to find alternate musical options. So just keep cheering on The Tempest and so many other rising bands because a band's success is based on their fans' loyalty and support, and there is definitely a treasure trove of amazing undiscovered bands out there.
Ricky says:
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions; im glad you came onto Canadian Idol, cause you really allowed people to see that Canada has some talent otu there, that isn't bubble gum pop.
Alissa says:
Hehehe, thanks. If atleast I accomplished that much then it was worth the humiliation!!
Johnny Nite is gone?? My heart is broken.

Craig is going to screw up BADLY in Toronto while Brandon only does better and better. The judges EASILY put Brandon into the Top 22 and Craig has a very hard time making it because of his poor performance in Toronto. Therefore, Brandon will gain fans, while Craig will NOT and will probably lose some
