The first four eliminations didn't cause much excitement on Thursday (Feb. 22) night's "American Idol," but the show made a variety of announcements to pick up the slack.

Paul Kim, Amy Krebs, Nicole Tranquillo and Rudy Cardenas became Top 24 footnotes, but a slew of high profile guest stars were announced for the FOX reality smash.

During the show, host Ryan Seacrest revealed that this season's guest line-up will include Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Jon Bon Jovi, Martina McBride, Diana Ross, Barry Gibb and Lulu and Peter Noone. The later Herman's Hermits veterans will be on hand for a British invasion theme night. No word on whether J-Lo's appearance will be tied to a "Music of Jennifer Lopez" theme.

Thursday's show also featured a performance by the show's third winner, Fantasia, who announced her plans to join the cast of Broadway's "The Color Purple" in April, along with a cameo by "Purple" producer Quincy Jones, who was interrupted by Seacrest before he could get out a single sentence.

Plus, the episode introduced Chris Daughtry's "Home" as the new "Idol" send-off song, replacing Daniel Powter's "Bad Day."

If that's not enough "Idol" news for you, the show also announced on Friday that Season Five finalist Kellie Pickler will perform her new single "I Wonder" during next Thursday's results show.

American Idol Calls McBride, Underwood, Pickler

Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler will all appear on American Idol this season. Underwood will sing her current hit, "Wasted," on March 8 during her second performance on the show since winning the competition in 2005. No specific dates have been announced for McBride and Pickler's appearances. McBride is one of nine celebrity coaches who will work with the contestants. She will also perform on the show. In addition, Pickler will return for the first time since she was a finalist last year. All three artists record for the country division of the RCA Label Group.

Si c'est comme l'année passée, non. Il vont les aider a pratiquer leur choix de chanson et apres l'artiste vient faire acte de présence en chantant une chanson lors du result show.
