Is the Kelly Clarkson Album Scrapped Rumor Just That -- A Rumor?
There have been rumors flying today that Kelly Clarkson's album was so hated by Clive Davis and RCA that she has been forced to scrap the album and head back into the studio to record new tracks. I have resisted posting on this, as I was hoping it was just that -- a rumor.
Now, according to a post-er at the Kelly Clarkson Express (a fan site for Kelly), it seems that it might just be a rumor after all. While the post-er, screenname jmloveskc, could prove to be as unreliable as the stories that are currently circulating around the web, I'm hoping he's right. And, truth be told, the evidence does seem to support him -- after all, her new single "Never Again" just debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #8. The post-er writes:
"Rumors, Rumors, Rumors......
With the new CD scrapped [rumors], I thought I should call [both sides of Kelly's camp] again. I just got off the phone with one of my contacts, and nothing has changed. The research on ["Never Again," her new single] is excellent. They are really pleased that she was #8 on the Hot 100, and #8 without any promo. Kelly herself has told us all in radio interviews that the CD is going to drop in summer, so please listen to her, if you don't want to believe me. The only reason a date has not been anounced is because they are still finalizing a few things, and deciding what week will be the best week to drop the CD. They don't want to give a date now, just in case it needs to be changed again. Everyone is now excited about the CD, and are definately behind Kelly's music 100%. I guess they decided they like the Pat Benatar sound.

Kelly Clarkson's latest album has been finished since January, but will not be released until July 24th. And Kelly seems far from impressed with her record label.
Some gossip sites have been reporting that there has been some tension between the former American Idol and label mogul, Clive Davis on what the album should sound like.
MTV Radio caught up with Kelly earlier in the week and here's what she had to say.
"Everybody always wants me to go in different directions. Obviously they're a record label so they need to sell records.They want the formula writers and the formula producers that do everybody else's stuff, and while I love some of those people... and I don't mind working with that...I just don't like working with someone that gives you a song and is like, 'Oh, I wrote this for you.' But you find out that they've given it to every other artist and they turned it down, you know?"
Kelly might've been feeling pressure from her label, but she didn't back down.
"My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album. And while I like Lindsay Lohan, like I'm cool with her and I think she sings the song well... it's already been on an album. I don't care what pop star it is."
Clarkson was kind of offended by the whole situation. "They were just sending me stuff that was like almost insulting. I'm like, 'You can't even find new songs?"
"You don't want me to write my album but you're sending me hand me downs?' So, I ended up writing the entire thing with the people that I write well with."

Ninty a écritEn tout cas elle a l'air de tenir bon. Elle veut un album de qualité. Je crois que Clive voudrait qu'elle ferme sa gueule et qu'elle fasse la belle, ce qui est pas le cas.
Et elle fait bien! Ca me fait l'aimer d'avantage....
