Citation :The Ultimate SoundScan Sales/Download Checklist
Space didn't permit running the following lengthy and comprehensive list, but it's so information-packed it just had to find a home somewhere. Like here.
I asked the kind and obliging folks at Nielsen SoundScan to go above and beyond the usual bounds by compiling a list of any album or EP by an Idol finalist registered in the data-gathering firm's system, as well as totals for downloaded tracks (realizing that even a sadist such as I couldn't ask them to list all individual tracks by Idols). So that's what follows. I've organized the album/EP list by total sales, with individual album sales broken out beneath each Idol's total. When an Idol has just one album or EP, that title is listed on the same line as the artist's name.
Let me get the rest of the disclaimers out of the way before we start. All info current as of Jan. 6, 2008; U.S. sales only. If an album doesn’t appear, it’s not registered with SoundScan or otherwise unfindable in the system. Totals are rounded. Records titled “EP” are digital collections of songs sung by Season 6 finalists on the show. Sales totals followed by an asterisk (*) means actual total could be higher with addition of Christian bookstore sales not counted in SoundScan total. Reading entire list in one sitting may cause drowsiness or vertigo. If symptoms persist, take a dose of Idol Rewind.
The list itself follows.

JOYEUX NOEL ET BONNE ANNÉE 2009!!!!
Citation :Most Idols up as overall sales rebound slightly
Sorry for the lateness of this report -- Idol season schedule throws any post I might put up on Tuesday or Wednesday back considerably. Not that I'm begging for sympathy (or deserve any).
Anyway, overall album sales bounced back a little from an all-time low last week, improving by 5%. Daughtry managed to exceed that margin by a little, selling 6.4% more copies than last week (a rounded 21,000 compared to a likewise rounded 19,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan). The album moves from No. 20 to No. 19 and has now sold 3.71 million copies.
Carrie's Carnival Ride is up 5.3% to 20,000, moving 24-22 on the chart and reaching 1.79 million total.
Jordin clings to the top 50, dropping 48-49 but selling a few more copies than last week (0.2% more), in the mid-12,000s. Her total is 461,000; she should hit half a million in four weeks at this rate.
Carrie's Some Hearts drops 57-58 but sells 6% more, up to 11,000, for a total of 6.23 million.
The only Idol on the chart without cheering tidings (except that he's still on the chart, unlike so many of his compatriots) is Blake, who falls 118-161 thanks to a 27% drop to 4,000 copies. His total is now 255,000, and with airplay for his single having pretty much vanished, the prognosis can't be overly optimistic.
Off-chart Idols follow.
Breakaway's no longer eligible for the current album chart, but if it were, it would have made it this week with 3,700 units sold, down from 3,900 last week, for a total of 5.94 million. Kelly's My December sold 2,000, down from 2,200, for a total of 746,000.
Kellie also nearly made the chart, missing by 300 copies or so. She sold 2,900, up nicely from 2,300, and her total is now 709,000.
Elliott sold 1,600, down from 1,800, for a total of 489,000.
Bucky sold 1,200, same as last week, and stands at 321,000.
Fantasia sold 700, down from 800, total 504,000.
Mandisa stayed at 700 and has sold 69,000 to date.
Bo sold 500, off from 600, for a total of 38,000.
Katharine remained at 300; total 366,000.
Clay stayed at 200, and bumped up to a rounded 523,000.
Ruben stayed at 100; total 236,000.
Constantine stayed at 100; total 24,000.
Taylor stayed at 100; total 700,000.
Kimberley stayed at 100; total 18,000.
Paris stayed at 100; total 21,000.

JOYEUX NOEL ET BONNE ANNÉE 2009!!!!
Citation :American Idol sales: Good week helps propel Idol gains
A healthy Easter holiday week, plus possibly the effect of CMT-related promotions on country artists (meaning Carrie), helped boost the sales of all the Idols on the Billboard top 200.
Carrie's Carnival Ride shot up 33-15, selling 37,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan -- a 116% increase. Total is now 1.96 million. Daughtry drops 21-27, but increases sales 18% to 25,000 for a total of 3.91 million.
Jordin is up 32-29 and registers a 35% sales increase to 24,000, bringing her total to 595,000. Carrie's Some Hearts jumps 57-51 with a 33% increase to 16,000 for a total of 6.34 million.
Finally, the charts giveth and taketh away. Blake falls off the chart this week, but Kellie -- aided by an appearance on Idol last week -- returns at No. 146 with nearly 6,000 sold, an increase of about 240%. Her total is 734,000.
Idols off the chart follow.
Blake missed the top 200 chart by exactly 36 records, a cruel blow. His rounded total is 4,000, down from 4,300 the previous week, and his total is 282,000.
Kelly's Breakaway sold 3,500, up from 3,000, for a total of 5.97 million. Her My December sold 1,500, up from 1,300, and totals 758,000.
Bucky sold 1,600, up from 1,400, total 332,000.
Elliott sold 1,500, up from 1,200 and enough to push him over the half-million mark (501,000), a notable achievement for an independent album.
Mandisa sold 600, same as last week, for a total of 75,000.
Fantasia sold 500, down from 600, for a total of 510,000.
Bo also sold 500, no change, total 42,000.
Katharine sold 400, down from 500, for a total of 369,000.
Taylor sold 200, up from 100, for a total of 701,000.
Clay sold 200, down from 300, totaling 524,000.
The 100 club, all of whom sold 100 the previous week as well, stars Ruben (237,000 total), Constantine (25,000), Paris (21,000) and Kimberley (18,000).
