The Amazing Race: Did it show spousal abuse?
Producers of CBS’s The Amazing Race may have gone too far when they televised what appeared to be a spat of spousal abuse, a relationship expert tells STAR. The Dec. 14 broadcast showed California entrepreneur Jonathan Baker, 42, berating and shoving his wife, Victoria Fuller, 32.
While racing through the streets of Berlin, Germany, with heavy packs on their backs, the couple began fighting. Afraid of losing first position, Jonathan snapped and was shown screaming at his tearful wife and shoving her. The couple eventually came in second. Emotional crisis expert Dr. Paul D. Slocumb tells STAR: "This is train-wreck TV. The show’s producers have a moral obligation to either attach a disclaimer to such programming stating that spousal violence should not be tolerated, or to have psychologist on had to keep things from going over the edge."
But when STAR caught up with Jonathan & Victoria, they played down the incident. "I’m OK, everything’s fine" Victoria told STAR on Dec. 16. "I’m not an abuser" added Jonathan. "If she was a guy, there’d be nothing to talk about". Still, says Victoria, "It was very stressful doing the show".

Il devrait aussi avoir une psychologue sur place afin d’éviter les débordements de ce genre."
Cependant, lorsque STAR a rejoins Jonathan & Victoria, ils ont banalisé l’incident. "Je suis OK, tout va bien" assure Victoria à STAR le 16 décembre. "Je ne suis pas un abuseur" ajoute Jonathan. "Si elle avait été un homme, personne en aurait parlé". Victoria affirme que l’émission a quand même été une expérience très stressante.

chiro a écritMerci pour l'article Sakke, je suis contente de voir qu'une revue s'intéresse au sujet et apporte de bonnes suggestions. On est pas les seuls au Québec à s'inquiéter de ce comportement!
Au contraire..... je fréquente deux forums américains et je t'assure que Jonathan est conspué. Il n'y a rien qui n'a pas été dit sur son compte. Il est férocement détesté.
