Wow.

RealityNewsOnline: Hello, Randy, and thanks for taking the time to talk to us here at RealityNewsOnline! Starting at the end, what was going through your mind as you watched last night’s episode and saw what led up to you being voted off?

Randy: I was thinking, “Finally, Sugar is being shone for who she really is.” She’s gotten the golden edit this year, making her out to be America’s sweetheart and everybody got to see how vicious… enough about Sugar. I was relieved, I had a lot of closure last night.

(Author’s note: Randy’s statement about the good edit Sugar has been getting corresponds with what Charlie said in his interview last week.)

RNO: What do you think the average viewer was thinking as they watched?

Randy: I would guess they were saying to themselves, “Finally, the villain Randy is gone.” That’s the average unsophisticated viewer of course.

RNO: What about the sophisticated viewer?

Randy: They’re thinking, “What am I going to do next Thursday night – that’s one of five or six players that know how to play this game and have an IQ over 85.”

RNO: Who were the others who knew how to play?

Randy: From being out there as well as watching, Jacquie, Ace, myself, Charlie, Corinne, Marcus has a great early game, and somewhat Kenny. Kenny is lasting longer than me and Corinne and Marcus, but if you look at it, he’s gotten every break in every tribe flip-flop, and unfortunately, other strong players got the short end of the stick.

I’d also put Crystal as one of the best players. I want to point out that when Kenny won last night’s immunity challenge, Crystal set the all-time record in 17 seasons for losing the most challenges. This is coming from a gold medallist. And she even sucked at the auction.

RNO: To clarify for those reading this interview in print, when you said that about Crystal…

Randy: I was being totally sarcastic. Crystal from day one, she was looking at Dan and Marcus and Matty and she chooses Susie. Maybe I’m not smart enough to understand the brilliance of that move, but she left me scratching my head so many times.

RNO: Why did you seem to have such dislike for Crystal?

Randy: I pretty much disliked her for every move she made. We won that reward challenge early in the game where we got two blankets and when we slept at night, she put one blanket underneath her and used the other to cover herself while the rest of us were freezing. And she didn’t see anything wrong with that! It was early enough in the game that I let her get away with it and bit my tongue and didn’t say anything. I disliked her just because I disliked her. Period.

RNO: Going back to the beginning, what was your strategy coming into the game?

Randy: I pretty pulled off exactly what I wanted to pull off. I wanted to be a floater at first, which I was at the original Fang. There was nobody there I could form an alliance with. Fortunately, I didn’t. Then we switched up on Day 10 and I found some smart, fun people that I thought knew what they were doing. It took until Day 18 or 19 until we made it official with an alliance. A week later, another switch. My strategy was right, I just wasn’t quite patient enough.

But I don’t regret it, because when I picked Corinne, Marcus, and Charlie to play the game with, I decided I was going to win the game with them or lose the game with them, because I could not communicate with Crystal, GC, Matty, or even Kenny.

Kenny was playing the dumb kid and I didn’t see through his act. I wish I would have. I was happy with my strategy. But with so many twists in the game, the only strategy is no strategy. With Sugar and Bob still in the game, that pretty much proves that theory.

RNO: Considering the way you have described your own personality, why did you choose to go on a show where social interaction is so important?

Randy: I didn’t choose to go on the show, they chose me. Of course, I said yes. You used the word “choose.” My lifestyle, I choose to live it the way I live it. I’m totally socially adept. I’m good at it. But I choose not to play the game in the real world, but I knew I could do for 39 days in the fake world of Survivor.

RNO: How do you feel towards Bob knowing that he was in on the blindside, even if he didn't actually vote for you?

Randy: I’m glad you brought that up. There’s just no strategy there whatsoever. Bob’s a good guy. But to give me a fake idol and to turn around and vote for Susie? God help the kids at his high school. I just don’t understand that logic. Do you understand that?

RNO: The only thing I can think of, based on what we saw and the previews for next time, is that he’s going to try to convince Corinne that he was played – and use his vote against Susie as evidence for that.

Randy: So you’re saying Bob’s going to try to sell that he actually thought it was a real idol?

RNO: That’s the only thing I can think of.

Randy: (Sarcastically) No wonder I lost. Nice move, Bob. I mean, he made the idol!

RNO: Speaking of Bob maybe making that claim, at the time, did you realize Bob had played you, or did you think Bob was being honest and had somehow been played himself?

Randy: I knew he hadn’t been played. Bob was a friend and an ally. I’m still thinking from a strategic point of view – what good could giving me a fake idol do him? It would get me not to vote for him at the end if he’s in the finals.

When Jeff asked for the immunity idol, I looked down and saw Sugar and Crystal laughing. I knew it was fake, but I said what the hell, Eliza played a stick last season. It was my only move, I was going home anyway.

What you didn’t see last night was when Jeff put out my torch, Sugar was on the ground laughing at me. I’m not smart enough to know what the strategy was there either. Maybe she thought that would be endearing and I’d vote for her in the finals.

RNO: Do you think you underestimated Sugar's intelligence?

Randy: What intelligence? That’s the edit of the show. For whatever reason, she’s looked cute and semi-smart. That’s just not it. She’s not cute. Maybe she’s a little smarter than I gave her credit for. I wish the best for Sugar. I hope she meets a nice guy and gets married. Oh wait, she did that a month ago after meeting the guy for a week. And it’s already annulled.

RNO: Unfortunately, I’m being told we’re out of time. Do you have anything else you’d like to tell us about your time on Survivor?

Randy: It was great. I had a great time. Let me throw in one quick plug for my friend, Ace. Ace did not hit a woman. Ace did not get dragged away saying, “I’m famous, I’m famous.” Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Ace is a good guy.”

(Author’s Note: Randy is referring to a TMZ article from earlier this week that makes claims similar to what Randy just mentioned.)

RNO: Thanks again, Randy!
