Citation :The Laurentian Bank and the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Present "Le Show" to Benefit the Quebec Breakfast Club!
SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QC, June 26 /CNW Telbec/ - The Laurentian Bank
and the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu are proud
to present the Quebec Breakfast Club Benefit Show on Friday, August 10. Guest
artists Mika, Champion et ses G-Strings, Eva Avila and Pascale Picard, will
perform on the site of the International Balloon Festival. All profits from
the event will be donated to the Quebec Breakfast Club.
In light of its new partnership and its privileged role as the main
sponsor with the International Balloon Festival, the Laurentian Bank felt
compelled to give back to the community with a tangible gesture. The Quebec
Breakfast Club Benefit Show came to life through the generous involvement of
volunteers from both the Bank and the International. Their dedication and
efforts are focused on the future of today's society, its children. The
concert found strong supporters of its cause with two Laurentian Bank's
partners, namely Western Union and Industrielle Alliance. Along with Unilever,
their financial contribution in support of this worthy cause make "Le Show"
come to life.
Artists Unite for a Good Cause
Mika, star singer of the hour, will sing his biggest hits from his album
"Life in Carbon Motion". The Lebanese singer will have you dancing to the
rhythms of his English pop music that features colorful and dynamic hits "Love
Today" and "Grace Kelly." Champion, the most popular DJ in the province since
the release of his album "Chill'Em All" will also be part of the show.
Together with his G-Strings, he will ignite the crowd and your dancing feet.
Winner of the 2006 edition of Canadian Idol, Eva Avila, will join the list of
the evening's guest artists. Riding the wave of her successful first album
"Somewhere Else," this young 19 year old from Gatineau promises to have
everyone dancing. Finally, the new talent on the block singer-songwriter
sensation Pascale Picard will share her songwriting with you. Discovered in
2004 on the Musique Plus show "Pourris de talent", this young artist will
perform the melodies from her first album, "Me, Myself and Us."
Tickets on Sale at the Laurentian Bank
Pre-sale tickets for the benefit concert are available at all Laurentian
Bank branches. The cost is $26.33 excluding taxes for adults (13 years old and
over) and $17.55 excluding taxes for children (from 3 to 12 years). Tickets

by buying a pinwheel at a cost of $5. All proceeds from the sales of the
pinwheels will be donated entirely to the Quebec Breakfast Club. As well,

For the Love of Children
The Quebec Breakfast Club is a non-profit organization that aims to
provide children with a nutritious breakfast before going to class. Since its
inception in 1994 by Daniel Germain, 213 schools have benefited from this

Citation :CTV announced today further details about its unprecedented broadcast of the highly-anticipated Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis. With hosts now confirmed from CTV, MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, MTV, TSN and Star! for the multi-channel, high definition broadcast, the race is on to finish sets and finalize the line-ups for the marathon television event, beginning tomorrow night. CTV also confirmed today that each of the nine concert events around the world will be seen live in their entirety on CTVglobemedia's MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, MuchVibe, Bravo! and Star! channels, resulting in more than 60 hours of additional live coverage. Finally, live coverage will also be broadcast on CTVgm's flagship radio station 104.5 CHUM FM and on 11 additional CHUM stations across Canada. The end result is customized-for-Canadians television and radio broadcasts unlike any other in the world.
Anchored from CTV's MuchMusic headquarters in downtown Toronto, the Canadian Live Earth broadcast will be hosted by Canada AM's Seamus O'Regan and Marci Ien, MuchMusic's Hannah Simone and Matte Babel, MTV's Daryn Jones, TSN's Michael Landsberg and Star!'s Danielle McGimsie. eTalk's Tanya Kim and MuchMoreMusic's Traci Melchor will report live from London's Wembley Stadium, while MuchMusic's Devon Soltendieck and MTV's Dan Levy will deliver live backstage access from Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
CTV and its family of channels along with CTV's news, sports and entertainment divisions are working around the clock to present the Live Earth broadcast. Ten different crews involving more than 300 employees will be working to receive feeds from the nine concerts as well as the live hits from New York and London for the 29-hour marathon broadcast. In Toronto, a series of anchors will host the broadcast from a Live Earth set in MuchMusic headquarters. The MuchMusic parking lot will be transformed into an 'enviro-exhibit' featuring a sustainable condo, hybrid cars and two-wheel traveling options. The broadcast will feature special celebrity guests including Barenaked Ladies' Tyler Stewart, Wade McNeil from Alexisonfire, singer and World Wildlife Fund Ambassador Measha Brueggergosman, former Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan, Canadian Idol winners Eva Avila and Kalan Porter, and many more.
Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall, CEO of Control Room, the company producing the music events globally. Live Earth is a 24-hour, 7-continent concert series on 7/7/07 that will bring together more than 100 of the world's top music acts to inspire an audience of over two billion people to combat global warming. Official Live Earth concerts will be staged in New York, Washington, London, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo/Kyoto, Shanghai, Johannesburg and Hamburg. Live Earth is a project of the SOS campaign, which aims to motivate people around the world to "Answer the Call" through solutions-based short films, PSAs, books, an interactive web experience, and through the Live Earth concerts. Live Earth marks the beginning of a multi-year campaign led by the Alliance for Climate Protection and other international NGOs to drive individuals, corporations and governments to make immediate and lasting changes to solve the climate crisis. Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore is the Chair of the Alliance for Climate Protection and Partner of Live Earth.
