You come in a singing competition , and you are not a singer ???
merde c'est trop comic !

JOYEUX NOEL ET BONNE ANNÉE 2009!!!!
Citation :Ottawan the next Idol?
By NELLY ELAYOUBI, OTTAWA SUN
Could she be the next Kelly Clarkson?
Last night, former Ottawan Jory Steinberg, 25, made the tough cut in American Idol, and will successfully go on to the next round.
American Idol started its search for the next big star in Los Angeles this past August and visited six other cities for tryouts.
Out of the tens of thousands who auditioned, Steinberg was one who stole the hearts of all of the three judges during her rendition of Tina Arena's Chains.
"I'm sure all of her family and friends who saw her tonight are all very proud," said one family member last night.
Not happy with fruitcake? Get what you really wanted
Steinberg's immediate family can't speak to media until the show's finale.
"I think anyone who saw her can say she performed beautifully," the woman said.
Steinberg moves on to the next round and will perform in Hollywood.
Steinberg who was born in Ottawa, performed in Les Miserables in Canada, when she was only 11 years old. She is now residing in California.

Former Ottawa resident moves past first round of American Idol

Published: Wednesday, January 24, 2007
An Ottawa woman once touted as the biggest singer to come out of the city since Alanis Morissette has made it past the first round of American Idol. Jory Steinberg, 25, whose voice was featured on the soundtrack of the 1998 film “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,” impressed Idol judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson on an Idol episode Wednesday night. The performance earned her a golden ticket and a trip to Hollywood to square off against 99 other hopefuls. Ms. Steinberg moved to the United States about ten years ago to pursue a singing career. She had performed in various shows in the capital before leaving, including singing the national anthem at an Ottawa Lynx game.
