Topic Officiel SPOILER! American Idol 7!!!

Is American Idol Wildcard Show In The Works?

There has been some buzz on various American Idol message boards and blogs about the possibility of an American Idol 7 wildcard show. However, that same buzz has surfaced every year since American Idol eliminated the wildcard show. This year the buzz might be a little stronger, because the official American Idol website recently had a poll question asking visitors to vote on who should be brought back as a wildcard.
Also, in a recent press call, David Hernandez, who was the first of the American Idol 7 top twelve finalists eliminated, made an interesting comment. Hernandez said, “I’m off the show, and I’m not going back on obviously, unless they were to pull me as a wildcard, which would be amazing.” So was David Hernandez’s comment a subtle hint that a wildcard show is in the works or just wishful thinking?
Given that the American Idol 7 finale has been announced for Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21, then it would seem like there wouldn’t be time to do a wildcard show if one finalist is going to be eliminated every week. However, American Idol could always do a surprise double elimination week, which would allow them to throw in a wildcard to really shake things up.
However, another more likely possibility is a special wildcard competition for a spot on the American Idol tour. There has been some Internet speculation about this possibility. Given the poll on the American Idol website and David Hernandez’s comment, it does seem like American Idol producers might have something up their sleeves in regards to a wildcard competition.
Normally, the top ten finalists on American Idol go on tour, but a wildcard show could be used to allow previously eliminated contestants to compete for an additional spot on the tour. Some speculation centers around this wildcard show occurring as part of the Idol Gives Back special. This rumor would make sense considering that FOX has announced a special 7:30 PM start time for Idol Gives Back. The extra thirty minutes could be to hold some type of American Idol wildcard tour competition.
Who would take part in an American Idol wildcard tour competition? Since David Hernandez and Amanda Overmyer were the only two finalists who did not quality for the tour, it would probably be a given that they would be given a chance. However, a competition between two people wouldn’t require an extra thirty minutes on Idol Gives Back. It would not be surprising if three judges’ choices from either the semifinalists or Hollywood rounds of the competition were also brought back for the wildcard. Post your personal choices for an American Idol wildcard competition below.

JOYEUX NOEL ET BONNE ANNÉE 2009!!!!

I am still personally dumbfounded at Carly’s inclusion in the bottom 3 this week. That appearance showed her vulnerability and apparent lack of support.
Season 5 my favorite, Katharine McPhee, got her first surprise visit to the bottom 3 top 10 week. She too ended up in the bottom two as Carly did. But Kat’s was a week later (top 10 night) and she never saw the bottom three again. She did make that most famous appearance of all in the bottom two with Chris Daughtry. As we all know she went on to finish second behind Taylor Hicks.
It was thought at the time that Kat was the victim of complacent fans. Could Carly have the same problem? We will know this week. But I have been getting some really bad vibes out there about her. Some folks close to me can’t stand her. I can’t figure it out. In all emails and face to face opinions say she doesn’t sing the kind of song they like and they can’t stand that Tattoo. So I guess it’s OK to sing about a “Tattoo” but not to have one. I personally do not like tattoos of any kind at all but my dislike for them can not come close to over powering my admiration and love of Carly’s vocal prowess. She is without question one of the top 3 singers ever on this show…….. period. I think all you Carly haters will get a mega surprise come tour time.
So how do the odds makers think that bottom three appearance will affect her chances of winning? And does David A. look as strong? Does David Cook make a move? Well here’s a hint; JLynn is about to be ecstatic. Here’s how it shakes out.
Top 10 odds
David A. .72/1
David C. 6/1
Brooke 6/1
Carly 7.5/1
Michael 8/1
Jason 12/1
Ramiele 20/1
Syesha 40/1
Chickeze 45/1
Kristy 75/1
The odds makers like Kristy Lee about as much as everyone but me. And even though she looks to be the next to go, I’ll even bet she does not go next week. She is now the VFTW pick. Although they have no real weight, all votes will be appreciated.
I think this week we will have some big surprise performances and some flat ones. Who will they be? Here’s my guess. Ramiele will come back big. Kristy will surprise everyone. Michael Johns will step back up to the plate. Carly will still kick the usual ass although Simon will likely dog her. I think the tattoo gets covered this week. Brooke will turn back into …..Brooke. I think David C. might falter a bit but nothing drastic. David A. will try to go upbeat and be mortal again. Jason will go unnoticed. Syesha will follow suit as well as Chikeze. Let’s see how close I come. One thing for sure, the odds will likely change again.
Is it Tuesday yet?
