C'est en tous cas ce qu'affirment Tom Cruise et Katie Holmes, via leur agent, après que le magazine Life & Style a annoncé, sur son site Web et le jour de la Saint-Valentin, que l'un des couples les plus en vue — et décriés — de Hollywood se séparait, annulant ses projets de mariage.
«M. Cruise et Melle Holmes sont toujours fiancés et engagés dans leur projet de mariage, ainsi que dans les préparatifs de l'arrivée de leur enfant», a déclaré l'agent Arnold Robinson dans un communiqué. «Le couple est impatient d'entamer une vie longue et heureuse ensemble en tant que famille», ajoute-t-il.
Selon l'édition du magazine à paraître vendredi, le couple envisagerait de «continuer à jouer le jeu de la romance jusqu'après la naissance de leur bébé, au printemps».

L'acteur Chris Penn est mort accidentellement d'hypertrophie cardiaque alliée à une surmédication, a fait savoir lundi le bureau du médecin-légiste de Los Angeles. «Il ne fait aucun doute qu'il s'agit d'un accident», a déclaré le Dr Craig Harvey.
Chris Penn, frère cadet de Sean Penn, a été retrouvé mort à son domicile de Santa Monica (Californie) le 24 janvier dernier, mais les résultats de son autopsie et les analyses toxicologiques n'ont été divulguées que vendredi dernier.
La cause principale du décès est une «cardiomyopathie hypertrophique» (un coeur devenu trop gros, NDLR), aliée à «une surmédication multiple», a précisé le coroner.
«On sait que Chris Penn suivait plusieurs traitements, dont de la prométhazine et de la codéine, ces deux substances ayant joué un rôle majeur dans sa mort», selon Craig Harvey. Le coeur de Chris Penn pesait 700 grammes, soit plusieurs centaines de grammes de plus qu'un coeur moyen, révèle l'autopsie.
Le cocktail médicamenteux prométhazine-codéine est connu pour être hautement addictif. La prométhazine est un antihistaminique prévenant les vomissements et la codéine est à la fois un puissant antitussif et un antalgique, a détaillé le Dr Harvey.
«On ne connaît pas les doses ingérées», a-t-il ajouté, soulignant des zones d'ombres, qui devraient être éclaircies avec la publication dans quelques semaines d'un rapport d'autopsie complémentaire.
