Sparks, the youngest American Idol winner ever in the popular TV
franchise's history, blazes a post-Idol signature trail all of her own and
signs to 19Recordings/Jive Records, one of the industry's most cutting-edge

Simon Fuller, the creator of American Idol and the guiding force behind
American Idol's unprecedented success and founder of 19 Entertainment

Winning the majority of the more than 74 million record-breaking votes
cast, the 17-year old Glendale, AZ, native, was followed by millions of
television viewers and was hailed by critics and fans as one of the most
"musically evolved" contestants the Fox show has ever had.
Jive Records is gearing up to launch Jordin Sparks' lead single,
"Tattoo," produced by the hit-making duo Stargate (Beyonce, Ne-Yo) and
co-written with Amanda Ghost, whose impressive credits include James
Blunt's "Beautiful" and "Beautiful Liar" with Beyonce and Shakira. "Tattoo"
will be arriving at radio stations across the country on August 27th, and
Sparks' eagerly awaited debut album will be in stores in November.
Currently, Sparks is wowing live audiences in a trek across the U.S. with
other Season Six finalists on the Pop-Tarts American Idols Live! Tour. In
between tour dates, she's scheduled to appear on The Teen Choice Awards
which airs live on FOX on August 26th.

Jordin Sparks has signed the record contract that comes with winning "American Idol." The bubbly 17-year-old inked a deal with Jive Records in conjunction with 19Recordings, the label managed by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, it was announced Friday.

Her debut album is slated for release in November. She'll offer a taste of the disc with her new single, "Tattoo," to be released to radio stations Aug. 27.

"`American Idol' has truly been a life-altering experience," Sparks said in a statement. "I can't wait to share this next chapter of my story with all the fans that have supported me so far."

Sparks, who hails from Glendale, Ariz., is the youngest winner in the Fox show's six seasons.

Les producteurs semblent vouloir battre le fer pendant qu'il est encore chaud... J'ai bien hâte d'entendre son premier single.

Ca sonne bien. J'aime la vibe r&b/pop de la chanson. Et aucun doute que Jordin sonne super bien en studio.

En effet, elle est magnifique. Quand j'entends certains médias dire qu'elle devrait maigrir, etc... Jordin est belle comme ça.

C'est pas le genre musicale que j'écoute normalement ou que je préfère... Le "son" est bien, la voix prend toute la place, ample et souple, pas trop d'effets sonores qui dénaturent la voix, un timbre riche et bien controlé. Sans être une toune mémorable... cela s'écoute sans trop d'effort.

When did you get to Florida?
Jordin Sparks: We got to Florida on the 1st, so we've been here for a week, you know, tanning and soaking up the sun and rehearsing....

Have you done any sightseeing yet?
Jordin: We had a day off where I rode the WaveRunners and we all just kind of chilled. It was really fun.

Was that your first time on a WaveRunner?
Jordin: It's like a Jet Ski, which I have driven before, and I just had a blast. It was me, my mom, Blake [Lewis] and Chris [Richardson]. It was really relaxing. There was a Jacuzzi, and we swam in the ocean.

Did people look twice in the water when they saw you speed by with Blake and Chris?
Jordin: Yeah, there were a couple of people, but it's OK. We took a lot of pictures and signed some autographs. For the most part, people were really cool and were probably like, "Oh, they're on vacation, too."

Did you get to go do anything else?
Jordin: We get off pretty late from these rehearsals, but Gina [Glocksen] had a party because it was her birthday this past week. We went to her aunt and uncle's beach house, which wasn't very far from the hotel. We went to Outback Steakhouse after that and ate. It's been just great.

Did you all sing "Happy Birthday" to her?
Jordin: We did. And everybody got her individual things. My mom and I got her a card that has a chicken on it, and when you open it, it plays the "Funky Chicken" song. I wrote inside how much I love her, and I gave her a pair of shoes from the finale that she really wanted.

Did you wear them with the Badgley Mischka gown?
Jordin: No. They're the shoes I wore with the white dress because she was like, "If I ever get married, I want these shoes!"

What was her reaction to the gift?
Jordin: We embraced and started crying!

Any surprises about the tour rehearsals, anything you didn't expect?
Jordin: It's been crazy because we only rehearsed with part of the stage back in California. So when we got here and the actual full stage was here, it took some getting used to because it's bigger than we thought it'd be. We've just got to learn how to breathe right and pace ourselves. When we walked in, we were all looking around at the empty seats. This arena is huge and there's going to be people filling up these seats! I can't believe this is actually happening.

Do you still feel like you're dreaming?
Jordin: I am, and it's so much fun. I can't believe opening night is tonight. My adrenaline is pumping at a million miles per hour.

What will you do to get ready?
Jordin: I'll probably just pray and breathe, talk to Melinda [Doolittle] and my mom, and just go out there and do what I do because I love performing. When there are big crowds, I feed off of their energy. I just can't wait to get out there.

Will you pig out on pizza at crafts services beforehand, or are you one of those people who gets nervous and can't eat before a show?
Jordin: No, I can't eat before a show. Maybe it is a nervous thing, but I always feel like, if I eat, I'll feel too full and I can't push my notes out. But I pig out afterwards!

Have you seen your tour bus yet?
Jordin: Yes, we have, and it looks awesome. We've got our bunks and they've got little TVs on the inside, and we've got a front area and a back area.... It's a really nice bus. I picked the middle bunk because it goes three up, three across.

When I saw you at the TV Guide cover shoot, you said you were going to bring books on the road. Reading anything good?
Jordin: You know, I brought a couple with me but I can't remember what they are! I haven't had any time. They've just been sitting in my bag, which is really, really sad for me. It hurts to know that there are books sitting around unread.

I'm sure you'll have time while you're driving tonight. What's the next city?
Jordin: We go to Tampa right after this.

So you actually sleep on the bus?
Jordin: Right.

Have you outfitted the bus with any fun gadgets or toys?
Jordin: We just got on them yesterday so we really haven't had time to do anything yet, but I'm sure when we get to different cities, if we have time to stop, we'll pick up some stuff to decorate.

I know the boys went out and bought Xboxes and PlayStations for their bus, so I was just wondering.
Jordin: I know! Blake bought an Xbox 360, so that'll be on his bus. I'm like, "Maybe we should get one."
