Les préceptes de l'église de Scientologie demandent à la mère de ne pas faire de bruit lors de l'accouchement. Pour réaliser ces préceptes, Katie Holmes a demandé d'avoir une péridurale pour l'aider dans cet effort contre nature.

Avec la péridurale, Katie Holmes aurait réussi à ne pas faire de bruit tout au long de l'accouchement. Le silence devait être complet pour la mère et tous ceux qui étaient présents lors de cette naissance. La communication se faisait par signes.

Tom Cruise est très heureux de la manière dont s'est déroulé l'accouchement.
