Suzi Rawn

Age: 23
Hometown: Kamloops. B.C.
Audition City: Vancouver, B.C.

Aside from the busy job of mothering a preschooler, Season 3's fourth-place finisher and rock chick extraordinaire Suzi Rawn is hard at work recording yet another album.

Rawn, who already had three full-length independent releases under her belt before her stint on Canadian Idol (two with her band, King Size Suzi, and one solo effort), has joined forces with 19 Management's Jim Campbell and is almost finished recording what will be her first major solo release.

Campbell (who also manages Idol alumni Kalan Porter, Melissa O'Neil and Rex Goudie) told Eye on Idol the disc should be completed sometime in June and said multiple labels have expressed interest in signing Rawn to their rosters.

He expects a deal to be reached sometime soon and is planning for a release date in late summer.

"Some of the songs are co-written by Suzi," he said. "It stays true to her musical roots. It's a rock sound."

He said the gracious and strong-willed Rawn has the mark of a true professional, devoted to her career and hardworking in the studio.

"And, of course, she's got a great voice," he added.

It's easy to see there's nothing this natural songstress -- who penned her first tune at age 11 for a talent show -- would rather be doing.

"I've been busy with my band writing new material and pondering options for my next move in the industry, while awaiting the freedom to do so," Rawn recently told Eye on Idol. "After much soul searching I decided to... make a record in Toronto."

"I can't wait to start touring."

Campbell says a national tour will probably start this fall, with dates and locations to be released once the record deal is finalized.

Since leaving the show last summer, the unique and vibrant Rawn has become even more visible in her community of Kamloops, B.C., taking active roles in many charity events and concerts. She has also been invited to sing the national anthem at plenty of sporting events.

"I'd like my career path to begin a bit of a revolution, reminding people of the peace and love and union for humankind that was fought for back in the sixties," the pensive songstress told Eye on Idol during her stint on the competition.

"Music is the face of culture and it can change the world. Not that I could do that, but this thinking can spread and perhaps I could help."
