Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo is about to get a little more help on his upcoming tour with runner-up Jaydee Bixby and third-place finisher Carly Rae Jepson.
The tour will now include Tara Oram, Dwight d'Eon and Greg Neufeld in selected cities.
Kicking off on Nov. 18, the whirlwind Idol tour will hit over 15 cities from coast to coast.
The tour has already sold out several shows, including two nights in Hamilton, Melo's home town, and four in Red Deer, Alta., near Bixby's home in Drumheller.
Oram, who hails from Newfoundland, has been romantically linked to Melo.

Awesome Canadian Idol concert in Moncton tonight!
I saw an awesome Canadian Idol concert in Moncton tonight featuring winner Brian Melo, runner-up Jaydee Bixby and third-place contestant Carly Rae Jepsen. Fifth-place competitor also made an appearance and opened the show with a couple of songs.
Jaydee followed and blew the roof off the house with his showmanship and obvious love of what he was doing. To the obvious delight of the crowd, he ventured into the seats several times to sing to the fans. Carly Rae was up next and was the same charming, sweet self we saw on Canadian Idol this season. She said a couple of times how much she loved performing in the Capitol Theatre, which was nice of her! She even proposed to a girl in the audience on behalf of her boyfriend - who said "yes," just in case you were wondering! Brian Melo closed the concert with an amazing set of rock songs.
The encore consisted of all four Idols coming back to sing "We Will Rock You" and "Life Is a Highway" to a long and heartfelt standing ovation from about 800 fans packed into the theatre. What a great time!

HALIFAX - "Canadian Idol" runner-up Jaydee Bixby is enjoying his current cross-Canada tour with "Idol" winner Brian Melo and fellow contestant Carly Rae Jepsen. After all, no one is in danger of getting voted off the stage anymore.
"We all get to come back next week and sing - no matter what," Bixby, 17, said Tuesday with a laugh. "Knock on wood."
Despite the hectic pace of the tour, the Idols say it feels like the pressure is off.
"It's more of a celebration," says Jepsen, the Mission, B.C., native known for placing her own folk-rock flair on hit songs.
"The competition .... was so high-paced, and you only had one chance. There was never that ease that I think we're all enjoying right now."
Jepsen placed third in the competition, while Bixby, the country-crooner-turned-teenage-heartthrob from Drumheller, Alta., was the runner-up to Hamilton rocker Melo on the popular CTV show.
Since the Toronto-based singing competition wrapped in September, the three top finalists have kept busy preparing for their tour, which began Nov. 18 in Charlottetown and wraps Dec. 14 in Red Deer, Alta.
The shows give each singer a chance to showcase their unique styles, and also include songs performed by all three, who laugh and tease each other like siblings. The tour is also expected to include appearances from other "Idol" contestants, including Dwight d'Eon of West Pubnico, N.S., and Tara Oram of Hare Bay, N.L.
In addition to the tour, Melo, 25, has been preparing for the Nov. 27 release of his debut album, "Livin' It," for which he co-wrote a number of songs.
"I just had to make sure that I put out a great, great album that I'm happy with and that's it," says a laid-back Melo, sporting one of his trademark hats.
"Now it's just the next step to put it out there and see what happens."
His former competitors also have plans to make good use of the spotlight.
Jepsen, who turns 22 this week, says she will be releasing an album of original songs shortly after Melo.
As for Bixby, he plans to take some time, improve his songwriting and release an album by August.
"I already have a nice launching pad," says Bixby, his blond hair poking through the brim of his Stetson. "If something happens, it happens. And if something doesn't, oh well."
Neither Melo, Bixby nor Jepsen is dismissing the idea of branching into other areas, including acting.
It's a path that's been taken by more than one ex-Idol, including Melissa O'Neil, who won the "Idol" crown in 2005, is now performing on a Toronto stage show of the 1980s film classic "Dirty Dancing."
Melo insists his Idol colleagues will continue to perform even after the hype of the tour fades.
"All three of us went on the show because we love music," he says.
"Even if all the glitz and glamour goes away, I'm sure all three of us will keep on continuing to go out and do it."

Making the leap from television game show to rock stardom is a challenge the Canadian Idol franchise has yet to conquer. No matter how strong the voting is during the season, public interest tends to drop off the second the Idol is crowned.
The latest attempt to sustain the momentum comes in the form of a cross-Canada tour featuring Idol winner Brian Melo and finalists Jaydee Bixby and Carly Rae Jepsen. It's the first time in the five-year history of Canadian Idol that three finalists are touring together. (In some cities, three more of the top 10 are joining them.)
The more the merrier, I say, after witnessing the trio perform at Casino du Lac Leamy on Wednesday. Rather than an excruciating performance by one amateur singer who must pad the set to make it worth the ticket price, there were three singers keeping their sets short and sweet, ensuring a breezy pace.
Almost 800 people were in attendance, well short of a sellout in the posh theatre but not bad considering that none of the performers are from this area. Support for each contestant is still strong in the part of the country they call home -- there are four sold-out concerts in Bixby's home town of Red Deer, Alta., next month.
For Melo, who's 25, the tour is a warmup to the solo excursion he will embark upon next year to promote his new album, Livin' It. That will be the true test of his abilities, the outing that will make or break his career. This tour is just for fun, a chance to keep the Idol party going a little longer.
Accompanied by a tight, professional band, and wearing a grunge-era plaid shirt, jeans and cap, Melo adopted a rock-singer pose, one hand gesturing to illustrate the lyrics. Eyes squeezed shut, he pushed the songs out in a pleasant if unremarkable voice. On modern-rock nuggets by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Tonic and Foo Fighters, Melo showed himself to be a decent performer, though he may lack the fire necessary to captivate bigger crowds.
Amid the electric folk-pop numbers sung by Jepsen, who's from Mission, B.C., was one from her own repertoire. She wrote it when she was 17, she told the audience, and had a hopeless crush on a boy.
As Dear You unfurled its jazzy rock edge and cutie-pie Jepsen lit up the room with her megawatt smile, she looked like the Idol with the brightest future in the music industry.
Wearing a big white cowboy hat and tight jeans, Bixby, the pride of Red Deer, kicked off the proceedings. "My name is Jethro Bodine," he cracked, "and we are the Beverly Hillbillies."
He was kidding, of course. The 17-year-old, blond Elvis lookalike is no great talent musically, but he has a likable personality and a definite presence on stage.
Although his singing was rough during his homey, country-flavoured set, and he put his foot in his mouth when he said it was one of their first shows in Ontario (oops, Quebec), he could do no wrong in the eyes of his female admirers, especially those over 40.

TORONTO - The saying is that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
That definitely was not the case last night as the only thing people were saying after Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo along with finalists Jaydee Bixby and Carly Rae Jepsen performed at Massey Hall in Toronto was how much they had changed... for the better.
The trio returned to Toronto for the first time since the show finished taping in September as part of their nationwide tour (sponsored by Telus). It is the first time in Canadian Idol history that the finalists have toured the country after the finale and if all shows were as great as the one last night, I am confident that this will become more than just a one-time thing.
It was an all-day Idol extravaganza for the Murtzinator yesterday as I followed the Idols on all of their stops to fully immerse myself in the Idol experience.
The first stop was an autograph signing at the Telus store at the Eaton Centre. Just like I do with every movie and date that I go on, I arrived two hours early to get a lay of the land and make sure that Murtz had the home-field advantage. Because media wasn't expected at the signing, I was told to stand-in-line, and this was alright, because I was first. When Bixby, Jepsen and Melo arrived, they all greeted me with a hug and I think were just as shocked to see me first in-line as I was to be there. Brian asked if I was keeping busy and I said that it was busy for a bit because I had just covered the So You Think You Can Dance tour. It was pretty cool for the Idol to ask how I was doing while being in the midst of the best time of his life.
This was followed by a private meet and greet reception at Massey Hall before the concert. There were other people around that had won passes from my favorite radio station and yours, Z103.5 and we got to briefly hang out with the trio.
The Idols were full-fledged rock stars now, jettisoned from one signing to the next and it was amazing to see that they now had the respect that they so richly deserved.
When the Idols were first discovered and hit the John Bassett theatre over the summer, they were amateurs and definitely not used to playing in front of hundreds of people live (added to the pressure of knowing that their song would be heard by millions of people watching on TV). Last night's concert showed that they can no longer be tagged just as first-timers since Melo, Bixby, and Jepsen were now seasoned professionals.
The show began promptly at 8 p.m. as Jaydee was the first to hit the stage. I was immediately fascinated by the placement of the singers as I thought Carly (who finished in third place) would open the show, followed by the Canadian Idol runner-up and culminated by its ultimate champion. Instead, organizers probably felt that sandwiching Jepsen's songs between the two males was the best strategy and, in hindsight, I can't say that I disagreed.
There is no question in my mind that Bixby was the star of the show. When Canadian Idol was in full bloom, I often said that he was always the best performer and his act on a real stage at a real tour was even better. The 16-year old strutted onto the stage with the swagger of a young Mick Jagger and the showmanship of an adolescent Elvis as he jokingly introduced himself and his band as "The Beverly Hillbillies." He then launched into a six-song set that included Idol favorites, "Break It To Them Gently," "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" and "Sold." Bixby's "Suspicious Minds" cover was noteworthy not just in his set but the most memorable moment of the show itself. The crowd sang along and it was a scene unlike anything I have ever seen before as the doe-eyed singer ran into the crowd, gave scarves that he was wearing to audience members, and even posed for a photo with a front-row fan before returning to the stage. The Drumheller native also won the crowd over when he repeatedly kept saying they that they were "awesome" and took a photo of the audience as part of the collage he was making to remember the experience. I knew that Jaydee was good when I initially saw him on the show week-in and week-out, I just didn't know that he was that good.
Everyone knows how much I loved Carly Rae Jepsen on Idol and it is an undeniable fact that she was my pick to win. When it was her turn to perform, she provided a completely different feel to the show because after Jaydee's loud and proud country routine, Jepsen's set was soft, bluesy and definitely incorporated the jazz elements that she perfected when we first saw her. A stunning vision on-stage, Jepsen enjoyed playful banter with the band and was especially entertaining when she said that she preferred the house lights to be turned on so that she could see everyone and so that she "wouldn't feel so alone." Her set included "Sweet Ones," "Breathe," and "Torn."
After intermission, the 2006 Canadian Idol ran onto the stage from the crowd and Brian Melo received the biggest cheer of the night as he wailed "Can't Stop" to start the second half of the show. The singer definitely showed the versatility of his voice as he also sang "Karma Police," "She Talks To Angels" and "If You Could Only See." Critics have said that Melo is a new-age Idol and this is completely the case. The bubblegum aspect of the show has been popped as the program now provides a launching for upstart Canadian talent that is not limited to just one type of singer. The edgy and alternative Melo benefited from the fact that the show and its audience had grown to a point where they could appreciate a talent like his. To be honest, Melo has also grown as his stage performance had improved from the last time that I had seen him. His performance of his latest single "All I Ever Wanted" (off his recently-released first album) was spectacular and once again highlighted his development from the last time he performed the same song at the Idol finale.
The show ended with two encore performances that featured all three singers hitting the stage at the same time. "We Will Rock You" and "Life Is A Highway" were great choices as they got everyone standing and singing along before heading home.
To be honest, the only minor nitpick that I had was that I think that the Idols should have changed outfits during the show more and especially when they all returned for the encores. I think that this would have given the show more of a different vibe than the previous Bassett performances, but concerts are about to be the music and the on-stage performances and in this regard, the Idol tour was perfect.
The world's foremost reality television expert and Canadian Idol's only authority, Murtz Jaffer highly recommends Brian Melo, Jaydee Bixby and Carly Rae Jepsen: The Tour and the show still has Ontario and Western dates until the middle of December.

A stunning vision on-stage, Jepsen enjoyed playful banter with the band and was especially entertaining when she said that she preferred the house lights to be turned on so that she could see everyone and so that she "wouldn't feel so alone." Her set included "Sweet Ones," "Breathe," and "Torn."
After intermission, the 2006 Canadian Idol ran onto the stage from the crowd and Brian Melo received the biggest cheer of the night as he wailed "Can't Stop" to start the second half of the show. The singer definitely showed the versatility of his voice as he also sang "Karma Police," "She Talks To Angels" and "If You Could Only See." Critics have said that Melo is a new-age Idol and this is completely the case. The bubblegum aspect of the show has been popped as the program now provides a launching for upstart Canadian talent that is not limited to just one type of singer. The edgy and alternative Melo benefited from the fact that the show and its audience had grown to a point where they could appreciate a talent like his. To be honest, Melo has also grown as his stage performance had improved from the last time that I had seen him. His performance of his latest single "All I Ever Wanted" (off his recently-released first album) was spectacular and once again highlighted his development from the last time he performed the same song at the Idol finale.
The show ended with two encore performances that featured all three singers hitting the stage at the same time. "We Will Rock You" and "Life Is A Highway" were great choices as they got everyone standing and singing along before heading home.
To be honest, the only minor nitpick that I had was that I think that the Idols should have changed outfits during the show more and especially when they all returned for the encores. I think that this would have given the show more of a different vibe than the previous Bassett performances, but concerts are about to be the music and the on-stage performances and in this regard, the Idol tour was perfect.
