The Cut Contestants Design The World’s Ugliest Billboards
Tommy Hilfiger definitely has his work cut out for him in The Cut. In the premiere episode, the contestants divide up into two teams. Each team is then given a billboard (one on Broadway and one on 50th Street) and told to create a Tommy Hilfiger made in New York design. Both teams succeed in creating two of the world’s ugliest billboards.
Team Broadway decides to only use a fraction of their billboard and leave the rest of it as empty white space. While their multi-color camouflage design is somewhat bearable, they make the mistake of putting the Hilfiger name in such thin writing that it is completely unreadable from a distance.
However, Team Broadway’s design looks like a Picasso in comparison to the first grade art project put together by Team 50th Street. Team 50th Street’s first mistake is that they take Tommy Hilfiger’s classic red, white, and blue logo colors and turn them into purple, orange, and green. Team 50th Street’s next mistake is that their paint work looks like it was done by a dried out magic marker. Deanna on the opposing team probably described it best when she said “it looks like a public education board.” However, Team 50th Street did do one thing right. They came up with an inventive slogan highlighting “TOMMYNY.”
Hilfiger does note that “both billboards were underwhelming.” Of course, if this had happened to Donald Trump, he probably would have fired the whole lot of them and recast the show. Instead, Tommy Hilfiger declares Team 50th Street the winners because of their innovative slogan. Then, Hilfiger surveys Team Broadway to see who the team thinks participated the least. Team Broadway is equally split between Amy and Jessica. Because Jessica did at least help to save her team money, Tommy Hilfiger fires Amy by telling her, “You’re out of style.”
In between, the amateurish billboard design, the contestants alternate between fighting over clothing racks and congratulating each other on designing the world’s ugliest billboards. One of the contestants also goes crazy over her jacket being left out in the rain, while another contestant dances seductively in her bra in front of a hot tub.
What does all this add up to? It adds up to a pretty entertaining Summer reality TV show.

Je suis bien d'accord que c'est un show qui sera intéressant.
Et Vlada! Quelle agace! En tout cas, elle aura eu sa minute de gloire.
