A date, j'ai bien aimé Aaron, mais je préfère pas faire de commentaires sur les 2 autres :gla:

Tim est pas mauvais non plus, j'dois dire, mais les cuts sont juste weird.

AMERICAN IDOL: GUYS NIGHT RECAP FEB. 23, 2010 by TNLADY
Wednesday, 24 February 2010 22:38

Tonight On American Idol we get to hear for the first time, the 12 guys who made it through to the top 24. Excitement is evident in the audience, and I hope we hear more talented voices than I feel were shown from the girls!!

American Idol Guya

We begin the night with :

Toderick Hall (AGE 24)
Song Choice: “Since you been gone” by Kelly Clarkson

Ellen: yep, audience reaction is what he was looking for, chorus rough, singing wasn’t greatest but good performer
Simon: He came over as a dancer who was trying to sing, what he did was murder the original song, verging on stupid
Kara: strong singer, don’t have to change arrangement that much, undeniable he is a performer, took risk, doesn’t have to go that crazy, end of day shows he is being creative
Randy: is a fan, he can dance, didn’t even sound like same song, never want to take a song and completely change it, good chops

TNLady: seems comfortable on stage, good dancing moves, didn’t care for his arrangement of song

Aaron Kelly (age 16)
Song Choice: “Here comes Goodbye” by Rascal Flatts

Ellen: thinks he will be here a long time, gain confidence, will get better and better
Simon: was quite good bearing in mind it was his first show, thinks he looks embarrassed to be there and not much confidence, has to take control of song, all about self belief
Kara: favorite kind of contestant, no idea how great your raw talent is, more confidence he gets, he will do better, thinks we wills see incredible things from him
Randy: huge voice, a couple pitchy moments, big fan, needs more confidence

TNLady: very cute, seems extremely talented for his age, didn’t seem nervous or lacking in confidence to me

Jermaine Sellars (age 27)
Song Choice: “Get Here” by Oleta Adams

Ellen: huge fan, loves his look, loves song, felt he singing more as performance than feeling it, pushing too much, trying too hard
Simon: kind of song for playing piano in cocktail bar, oversang the song, sounded like he was screaming, thinks he totally blew his chance with that song, thinks he is better than he performed
Kara: wanted to show everyone his range, from bottom to top, should be about making it meaningful to impact audience, make it special, felt too old for his age
Randy: loved song, weird choice, too much vocally, sing melody, has big ability

TNLady: think he did a great job, nice voice, seems to be very comfortable and confident, nice vocal range, impressed me

Tim Urban (age 20)
Song Choice: “Apologize” by One Republic

Ellen: song was wrong choice, couldn’t hit high notes, if he closes eyes and listens he would see that, girls will vote for him because he is adorable
Simon: made right decision first time by not putting him thru, vocals weak, didn’t come over as a performer, don’t think his voice is good enough
Kara: music overpowers him, with guitar he was more organic, here he was buried under beat, likeable, cute, current, if he goes forward he needs to chose different songs
Randy: wrong song, none of it worked, thinks he’s better than that song showed him to be

TNLady: he is extremely good looking, song choice probably not the best for him, but he gave it a good shot, nice to look at anyway

Joe Munoz (age 20)
Song Choice: “You and I Both” by Jason Mraz

Ellen: so comfortable on stage, great presence, liked it, sounded great
Simon: kind of agree, have to get out of the bubble, based on performance, don’t think he is the best artist, failed to take his time to show us he has potential to be a star, could easily forget him
Kara: liked he picked a song she never thought he’d sing, was up front and center, could hear his voice, a few issues with chorus, so far the best tonite, not great but most consistent
Randy: not quite perfect song choice, loves his voice, did a good job

TNLady: doesn’t have great moves on stage, good voice, can sing, seems confident, he probably will advance to next round.

Tyler Grady (age 20)
Song Choice: American Woman

Ellen: has poses of 70’s but lacks charisma and excitement of those artists, gotta work on singing and not just make poses, get into performance
Simon: plus side, people will remember that , downside, for the wrong reason, pretends to be a rock star, doesn’t feel natural, not enough time spent on vocals, needs to change it up a bit
Kara: agrees with Simon, obsession with 70’s, needs to add something original to it, bring it into this decade
Randy: style over substance, change the game, bring something into 2010, be original

TNLady: very easy to look at, rocker style, 70’s kind of guy, made the song his own but would have preferred to see him do something more suitable to his age

Lee Dewyze (age 23)
Song Choice: “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol

Ellen: really good song choice, except when he started screaming, loved tone of voice, great and distinctive sound, thinks he should stay
Simon: thought it was best performance of the night thus far, a naturally good singer, believes in him, find song and turn it into ‘his’ version, a good voice, will do really well in this competition
Kara: song has small range, tried to change it up, but almost made song unrecognizable, needs soul or blues and attack it
Randy: dawg, disagrees with Ellen, a little too rangy, more pop rock song, he is more of a rocker, didn’t quite work for him, chose songs he can sink teeth into
TNLady: seems to have good stage presence, as he is playing guitar, he looks comfortable, didn’t care for his song choice but think he has more talent that was shown in this performance

John Park (age 21)
Song Choice: God Bless The Child (Jazz)

Ellen: song won’t get young girls to pick up phone and vote, liked performance, he sounded great, wishes it was a different song, hopes he gets another chance
Simon: you have got to have an incredible voice to take on that song, but he hasn’t got it, came over as flat, zero emotion, pointless performance, didn’t show what kind of artist he would be
Kara: agrees with Simon, a big voice, no connection, a bit loungy, sleepy, almost indulgent, doesn’t know where he goes in todays music industry, has a voice and can sing
Randy: song made him feel old, song didn’t suit him, wasn’t his style

TNLady: Song was too old for him, but he said it was for his parents, Put his heart into this song, nice vocals, nice looking young man, seems confident, think he’ll go through to next round

Michael Lynche (age 26)
Song Choice: “This Love” by Maroon Five

Ellen: you have personality, loves that about him, constantly smiles, great song choice, a few pitch problems, loves watching him
Simon: big guy, big heart, delivered so little on that performance, has to nail the song and have people listen to him as an artist, is better than that performance
Kara: was depressing in there till he performed, wasn’t outrageously great, comfortable
Randy: agrees with Ellen, brought energy up, fun character

TNLady: upbeat song, seemed prepared to perform, vocals nice, very entertaining young man, feel he has great potential

Alex Lambert (age 19)
Song Choice: “Wonderful World” by James Morrison

Ellen: likes him, he’s adorable, a great voice, holding on to mic too tightly, needs confidence, needs to ‘ripen’
Simon: don’t know who was happier for that to end, most uncomfortable performance of the night, staring into camera, good voice, but if he can’t get nerves together, he can’t make it
Kara: wants to hug him, sounds like James Morrison, a problem but a huge compliment, huge vocals, not completely together, great potential, adorable, believe in yourself
Randy: do with conviction, great tone, pull it together, he likes him, hopes he sticks around

TNLady: although he is great to look at, vocals were not good, he was off beat with the song, not an impressive performance for me, he seems to be lacking in confidence, very nervous, needs to relax and have fun

American Idol - Casey jamesCasey James (age 27)
Song Choice: Heaven

Ellen: jokingly says he was very hard to hear, could feel Kara undressing him with her eyes, then serious note said he sounded great, will get votes like crazy
Simon: understands they were both cursed with good looks, all kidding aside, he chose the right song, very honest, sincere, likeable, this was best performance from him since he entered competition
Kara: JOKINGLY said she doesn’t recognize him with shirt on, hard to listen to that, thinks he was pitchy when she was in his arms!! Seriously she says he can sing well, can play the guitar, and he has heart and soul
Randy: from one dude to another, like him, great song choice, likes voice

TNLady: so easy on the eyes..he is definitely hot!! Great vocals, song suited him well, did a great job with it, best performance of the night for me, confident, relaxed, the complete package, he may have a great chance at being the next American Idol

Andrew Garcia (age 24)
Song Choice: “Sugar we’re going down” by Fall Out Boys

Ellen: lots of fans, go back to doing what he did in Hollywood, needs to be himself, needs to open up, thinks he will stick around
Simon: looking forward to hearing him, but was disappointed, too serious, too indulgent, not himself, took no risk tonight, fantastic recording voice, gotta do better
Kara: took a risk, but strange rendition of that song, likes him, hope he comes back for many weeks, he’s great
Randy: arrangement was strange, is a fan of him, remembers him well from Hollywood, go back to being yourself

TNLady: didn’t care for his song choice, but he does have good vocals, think with a different song he would have been one of the better performances of the evening

In my opinion, the guys did a better job than the girls performances last night. Although there were some good performances with both, there seems to be more talent with the guys so far. The ladies need to step it up for next weeks show.

Tune into American Idol tomorrow night for the live results show. Chris Allen will perform. Two girls and two guys will be leaving.

American Idol: Boys Don't Try
by Matthew Jaffe TV.com Staff Writer 02/25/10 12:26 PM
American Idol : Boys Don't Try
Casey James sang Bryan Adams' "Heaven" on Wednesday.

Come on back Sanjaya, all is forgiven.

American Idol’s 12 male contestants did their best to send viewers over to the Winter Olympics last night. Even with the DVR cranked up to warp speed, the show seemed underwhelming and endless.

But let’s give the boys a break, at least for a moment. The judges had their own off night. They sent out so many mixed signals that the gents must have felt like they were parked up at Inspiration Point with the drunk president of the high school Abstinence Club.

Poor Tyler Grady: he has been lauded repeatedly for his Remember the 70s look and then—surprise, surprise—rocked those threads again. Not that Simon wasn’t right when he said that Grady looked like he was at “pretend-to-be-a-rock-star school.” I suspect that Tyler felt that he had found his Idol identity and was trying to not to fall into the trap that the judges sometimes set of “not being who you really are” when contestants try something new.

I liked Tyler’s response, “I guess I’ll have to go to the mall.” But considering his period look, what he should have said was, as Mick would have put it, “Well then, what can a poor boy do except to sing for a rock and roll band?”

And once again, despite all of the judges’ pleas for originality, safe performers carried the day, from Aaron Kelly to Casey James. Speaking of Casey James, the whole Kara the Cougar schtick is tired and potentially could have gotten in the way of his performance. If the show needs a lusty lady judge that badly, they should have just kept Paula around.

With a stronger field, more of these guys would be in danger. But someone has to get through, so here’s a look at how things are shaking out.
BOYZ IN THE MIX

Casey James: It’s hard to argue with his take on “Heaven” by Bryan Adams. He worked a little Eddie Vedder vibrato into it, and he’s just plain more mature than most of the other guys.

Michael Lynche: He did a nice and easy rendition of Maroon 5’s “This Love” and is so appealing and memorable that he’ll have no problems in coming weeks. Plus, half the country thinks he’s the guy from The Blind Side.

Aaron Kelly: He’s David Archuleta with less technique but more soul. Young Aaron seemed to gain strength and confidence the more he got into the song.

Andrew Garcia: Not a great night and not a great song. Just too many words and I’m not sure how well gun metaphor lyrics work on Idol. Speaking of which, he’ll reload and come out firing next week.

Todrick Hall: So here’s a talented guy who did exactly what the judges are always instructing: Take a well-known song and make it your own. His interpretation of “Since U Been Gone” was far from perfect. But come on, all he did was rework Kelly Clarkson not beatbox “Hey Jude.”

Lee Dewyze: I was underwhelmed by him, but the judges were fairly kind. Despite pitch issues, Lee has a good natural voice and looks a bit like Tim Tebow might if he doesn’t catch on in the NFL. His little aside to Ryan, “I don’t want to ever lose this feeling,” was almost a direct line from the old Derek and the Dominos/Eric Clapton song “Bell Bottom Blues.” That sweet, simple sentiment no doubt won him some votes.
BUBBLE BOYS

Tyler Grady: Even after his Lenny Kravitz-ized “American Woman,” he’ll live to shimmy another day. For how many days, I'm not sure.

John Park: Shania Twain’s boy toy actually has the most polished voice in the bunch. Whether he'll catch on to the realities of the competition is another story,

Joe Munoz: Wow, the judges were awfully kind to him. And another thing: It’s time to declare a Mraz-atorium; enough with the Jason Mraz songs already!

Jermaine Sellers: I like him less and less every time I see him. Though he will likely survive beyond last night, despite his failed vocal pyrotechnics.
FALLOUT BOYS

Tim Urban: Dude looks like the aspiring music critic in the movie Almost Famous. And after a losing battle with his shaky falsetto, "almost famous" may just be his musical epitaph.

Alex Lambert: When something’s wrong and you don’t belong, don’t sing a song that declares, “People look at me and they know/They can tell something is wrong/Like I don’t belong.”

Je suis vendue à lui depuis sa première audition !! J,adore sa voix. Il a bien choisi sa chanson :)

Todrick Hall

Ouf.

Tim Urban
:/ Ca fausse en tas lui... J'aime son look.. mais bof. Pas accrocheur

Joe Munoz
C'est la première fois qu'on l'entend vraiment me semble.. Mais bof. Ils chantent comme ben d'autres chanteurs..

Tyler Grady

John Park
Michael Lynch
Andrew Garcia
