American IdolCrystal Bowersox has shortened again in the American Idol 2010 Betting Odds after yet another great performance this week. Meanwhile time is finally up for Tim Urban, he has been favourite to leave for weeks and finally got his marching orders from American Idol 2010 on Wednesday.

Crystal Bowersox Is Looking More And More Unbeatable Each Week
Crystal Bowersox continues to shorten in the American Idol 2010 Betting Odds and seems almost certain to win, she is now just 4/6 with Bet365 who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers. She was only a shade odds on at the beginning of the week but another great performance this week (has she ever not put in a great performance£) has propelled her further clear of her rivals. Her biggest rival remains Lee Dewyze and it is hard to see anyone else making a fight of it, Lee Dewyze is currently 18/5 with Bet365.

Casey James Now Way Behind Rival Lee Dewyze
Casey James wasn’t great this week and he seems to be losing ground with nearest rival Lee Dewyze, Casey James is now as big as 8/1 with Paddy Power and he may struggle even to beat Siobhan Magnus, who was great for the first couple of live shows but went downhill from there, she is now 9/1 with William Hill. Michael Lynche and Aaron Kelly remain in the competition and it is almost certain one of those two will leave next week, most likely is Aaron Kelly, he is the 33/1 outsider with Paddy power whilst Big Mike is 16/1 with Bet365 and William Hill. The judges said it was the wrong move to perform a song sung by both Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, but Cape Cod’s Siobhan Magnus didn’t let the big names intimidate her Tuesday night.

America disagreed with the judges and sent her sailing through to another week of competition. Tim Urban of Texas was sent packing.

Magnus sang, “When You Believe” in week nine of “American Idol.”

Once again the judges were hard on Magnus, telling her it was the wrong song for her despite Kara DioGuardi admitting “technically it may be really well sung.”

Decked out with butterflies on her shoulder, Magnus talked about why she wanted to sing the song.

“To have the opportunity to be here and sing this song that I know has touched me very deeply before … the meaning of it is why I’m here right now,” said Magnus of the song, which describes conquering hardships by having faith in yourself.

Judge Ellen DeGeneres strayed from the pack.

“I disagree; I think that’s just more confirmation why you’re here,” the talk show host said after Magnus performed.

Mentor for the week Alicia Keys also believed Magnus has what it takes.

“This is no easy feat, this song. She’s doing things I don’t think most people can do and I’m very impressed.”

What the judges said
Randy Jackson: “You probably picked arguably the toughest song of the night by two amazing singers — Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston. I mean, amazing stylized singers and man, I don’t know why you picked it. It was just OK for me.”

Kara DioGuardi: “Technically it may be really well sung, but my problem is it’s not a musical. It started to feel very dramatic.”

Simon Cowell: “I found the whole thing all a bit odd, a bit all over the place, really. It’s a shame.”

What Siobhan said
“I didn’t want who the song was by to scare me away from singing it because I love the song.”

Lee DeWyze -- The Odds Are in His Favor

The smart money is on Lee DeWyze to win "American Idol" -- in fact, dude has become the odds on favorite to win the show ... this according to one of the biggest gambling sites in the world.


The gambling experts at BoDog.com have decided that Lee's odds to win the show are 1/2 -- while Crystal Bowersox is at 3/2.

Translation -- a $2 bet would pay back $3 on Lee (the favorite) and $5 on Crystal (the underdog).

But the odds don't always predict the winner -- last year, Adam Lambert was the odds on favorite to win ... and we all know how that worked out.
